The cause of a one-week delay was a bug in XFS maintenance utilities, which reported filesystem error, while in reality there were none.

DeleteThis time it's 135 minutes for main torrent, 18 minutes for images, 2 minutes for supplementary. Triple that because of 3x hashing because of spurious read errors (see previous threads, currently also suspecting queue_depth parameter), up to 24 hours between hashing start and end because job and sleep.

I'm not sure if this is abnormal behaviour or not as this is the first time I've downloaded a torrent like this. IF this is normal then would it be possible for future torrents to have the cue sheet already in the same folder with the .tta file? Or would this cause other problems?
DeleteDon't know how you extracted the 7z-file, but you're supposed to extract the entire archive in the root folder of TLMC, because the folder structure is already deposited in the archive.

I extracted it with WinRAR. By default WinRAR just creates a folder with the same name as the rar file and deposits all the cue sheets into there. I just had to change where it extracts the sheets to so they would be deposited into their respective folders rather than a new folder. Again thank you for the help.
DeleteI'm having trouble getting the torrent updated(never succeeded before). I suppose I did as instructed, place the ren17.py under the Touhou lossless music collection, run the script(got split second command prompt). Then run the new torrent (I did with utorrent 3.3), it shows up everything as 0% complete(booklet and tta) just like a fresh torrent. I assume this is not the effect it suppose to have when working properly.

If you take a look at the .py code you'll find that it can only empty and rename folders. It's to keep the structure updated to later point the new torrent over it.
DeletePoint the new torrent to that folder and re-check it, alternatively you can use the option "Force Re-Check" if you have already pointed it.

Okay... It somehow worked this time around, although the files show up as 9x% complete instead of 100%, but that's good enough. I didn't point the directory to the previous download last time(which was a stupid mistake). But I do believe I did so for the attempts before the last. I guess recheck was what I need to do. Granted, the torrent writes to the default location at Touhou lossless music collection (I think?) which contributes towards the maximum file length... is anyone else having this issue, or do people just rename their root folder? (I've even got this sitting in just the root, so it's C:\Touhou lossless music collection\)
Thanks for the report. I could extract the cue sheet and uTorrent downloaded the .tta just fine, but foobar2000 didn't index the file, because file path was too long. I renamed the root to TLMC (D:\TLMC in my case) and now it works.

ReplyDeleteYou don't have to start over. You just run the Python update script above, then run this torrent on top of that one. You'll start downloading the new one on top of that, resuming from where the old one left off.

DeleteFor now: this is normal and should be expected. If you're on a slow internet you're probably better off downloading v16 in its entirety first. You could switch back now and reclaim the missing percentage unless your torrent client is extremely weird.

It's an almost irrelevant distinction. Since they're AudioCD, most losses could occur on the first stage (transfer from optical physical media): one-pass burst read vs. repeated read, enabled cache, wrong sample offset, etc. When you have a disk image all potential errors, if any, are already there, and it's essentially all the disc has, a raw PCM stream. Then you simply add a WAV header and run it through the encoder.
I'd worry more about the scans.
I'm back at home and just finished ripping and scanning.

DeleteThe drive I thought I'd use as a replacement did not pass full surface check, so I had to order new ones.
DeleteI'd have to rebuild to one drive, take it out, rebuild to a second one, take it out, compare their contents, as there are silent bus errors which could cause rebuild process to write erroneous data to the new drives, and think what to do next if there are mismatches anywhere other than in array headers.
I'm considering skipping this release and waiting for Feb 2014, but havent decided yet. Will post update next weekend.
What would be updated into this update? If there is more content on February it might be better to do it then :3

Some albums don't have all the tracks. Foldable+ by Analyze x Piece of Rain seems to be missing 3 tracks.

DeleteAh, I used to say that the script should be launched by Python 2.x, because it was written when Python 2.x was either the most recent or the most popular version, and then at some time just silently dropped that. I'll look if I can make it run under both 2.x and 3.x.
About your FreeBSD, you need to run the script from the environment with a unicode-aware locale such as en_US.UTF-8 or the like, plain C doesn't cut it. I might have to add it to requirements just to be safe, though.

ReplyDeleteAs for this torrent having no seeds: I think the problem is actually with the trackers. I'm still seeding this, but I noticed my client doesn't see any peers at all lately while there were plenty of leechers to seed to in the past (managed to get to a 6.2 ratio). When I took a closer look it simply seems that the primary tracker's domain (kekesoft.org) is DNS-dead and the backup tracker (openbittorrent) seems to be down as well, even though the homepage is working fine. rwx, could you perhaps update the torrent with the addition of at least two working public trackers? And/or fix the kekesoft tracker of course.
